Three Cheers for Mar Azul International School

ExamResultsMar Azul International School is celebrating the publication of their first ever A Level examination results on Thursday 18th August (Click here for details of IGCSE results)

Anxious students and teachers were gathered early at the school gates to collect the long awaited results but their worries proved unfounded as student after student achieved beyond their expectations. This is the first year that Mar Azul International School has taught A Levels, considered by many to be the gold standard of all qualifications and thus it was with great delight that the school hit the national average with a 97% pass rate – not bad for a small community school in its first year of teaching at this level.

Mar Azul School is the only private school in the area who do not insist on students sitting an entrance exam. The school accepts pupils from all walks of life who have been in either Spanish or English education as well as children with Special Educational Needs. The school’s underpinning philosophy has always been to encourage individual students to maximise their full potential and to celebrate individual successes – however small.

Mar Azul offers A Levels in Art and Design, English Literature, Geography, Human Biology, Mathematics, Sociology and Spanish to compliment its ever expanding portfolio of BTEC National qualifications in Art and Design, Business, Child Development and Sport. Students taking the BTEC qualifications are also on line to achieve great results when they complete their courses next year.

Head teacher, Rachel Pestell announced, “I am absolutely delighted that our students have achieved such wonderful results. Not all of our pupils are blessed with grade A ability and it is largely due to their own sterling efforts and positive work ethic together with the unceasing dedication and commitment of our teaching staff. They have every reason to celebrate. This has given the school a great confidence boost that we are teaching to a high standard and we can’t wait to see the GCSE results which are released this Thursday 25th August.”
